Mr. Roosevelt Lowery was born on October 25, 1940, in Lynchburg, SC to the late Eddie Augusta Lowery and Caparita McPherson Lowey. He attended church services each Sunday until his health failed. He was member of the Senior Choir and a Trustee Emeritus. Roosevelt attended Dennis High School in Bishopville, SC.

Roosevelt was employed at the Daniel Construction Company in Eastover, SC until it's closing and later worked and retired from Pilgrim's Pride in Sunter, SC.

Hakim remains in the home and was his grandfather's caretaker as he aged and needed assistance with completing daily living tasks. He has 1 living sister Eddie Bell Disilvio of Philadelphia, PA.
